DESCRIPTION:

Welcome to "FUSION PROJECT / FALL 25" with Dud Muurmand!
An intensive training for advanced/professional dancers within the fusion field of Tribal Fusion, Oriental Dance, Skirt Fusion, Flamenco, etc.

​

This training focuses on pushing ourselves in terms of technique and expression/drama/performance skills – and also offers the opportunity to work together on a small group project, led by Dud.

​

The training sessions will be physically intense, with a strong focus on enabling dancers to work freely and professionally.

Dud provides feedback and challenges the participants throughout the sessions. Participants will take part in each other's feedback time during classes, and some feedback will also be given personally outside of class (via email or Zoom meetings).

​

This autumn, the focus will be on "PERFORMANCE SKILLS" – meaning that in addition to developing our dramatic expression in dance, we will also work on everything behind a professional stage dance performance: focus, mental training, planning, improvisation, nervousness, and all the elements needed to deliver on stage and connect with your audience.

 

Participants will be asked about specific areas they'd like to focus on.

This fall's project will not include "own choreography" as we did in the spring. (That concept will return, expected in Spring 2026.) However, this group will still work with group collaboration as a dramatic element, but based on a choreography/structure created by Dud.

There will also be homework assignments throughout the fall, arranged in agreement with the dancers session by session.

​

Class STRUCTURE (2h 45min):

• 15 min short warm-up

• 60 min technical training with feedback

• 15 min short break with theory/lecture

• 30–45 min COMBO / CHOREOGRAPHY / feedback

• 30–45 min DRAMA / EXPRESSION / PERFORMANCE SKILLS

• Short cool down​

LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

There is a minimum level required for participation: advanced dancers with at least 5–7 years of dance and solo performance experience. Dud is happy to offer advice.

• Write briefly about your motivation for joining – what you want to work on

• Wait for confirmation from Dud with payment details

• Also indicate if you want to sign up for Sunday workshops and/or FridayClass to receive a discount​

In early August, all project participants will receive an email from Dud with questions about your individual focus areas.

All 5 Sundays, including off-class feedback/zoom meetings etc.
